Il Montello oltre ad offrire dei paesaggi mozzafiato, sacrari in memoria della Prima Guerra Mondiale e svariate possibilita’ di svago all’aria aperta, e’ ricco di locali dove poter fermarsi e gustare la cucina veneta.
Ai piedi del Montello, sulla Presa XIV, l’osteria “da Fiaca” era un luogo di ritrovo per il paese di Venegazzu’. Qui era consuetudine ritrovarsi per una partita a carte dopo il lavoro quotidiano o andarci a ballare la domenica. Il suo carattere informale, ma attento alla tradizione e’ tuttora mantenuto da Marco, il gestore dell’odierna Osteria della Vittoria.
Ora all’Osteria della Vittoria ci si ferma per gustare piatti della tradizione trevigiana e veneziana, proposti da Marco che con estrema gentilezza a simpatia. Io ci sono stata diverse volte, per lo piu’ nella stagione invernale, con un caldo caminetto che fa da sfondo e da piacevole sottofondo ad una vera esperienza del palato. In estate invece la terrazza estiva vi permettera’ di apprezzare l’aria frizzante che scende dal Montello.
Non e’ il classico agriturismo sul Montello con quei sapori che sembrano ripetersi senza grande fantasia, ma una vera osteria dove la combinazione tra garbo e professionalita’, vi faranno ritornare piu’ volte.

The Montello hill welcomes you with breathtaking landscapes, memorials of First World War and a number of choices for outdoor activities, but also lots of places where you can stop and enjoy the Treviso cuisine.
At the foot of the Montello hill, on Presa XIV, the Tavern “da Fiaca” was a meeting place for the village of Venegazzu’. Here the pleople used to meet and play cards after the daily work or go to dance on Sundays.
The informal nature, but attentive to tradition is still maintained by Marco the owner of today’s Osteria della Vittoria. Now you stop at the Osteria della Vittoria to taste the traditional flavors of Treviso and Venice, offered by Marco with extreme kindness.
I have been there several times, mostly in the winter season, with a crackling fireplace as a pleasant background to a true experience of the palate. Whereas the summer terrace will allow you to appreciate the fresh air that comes down from Montello .
It’s not the usual agritourisms on the Montello hill where the flavors seem to repeat themselves without much imagination, but a real tavern where the combination between kindness and professionalism, will make you come back several times.
